Hindu Monk Prabodhanand Giri Reiterates Call for Violence Against Muslims

New Delhi, 08 Jan 2022 [Fik/News Sources]: Even as the outrage over Haridwar hate assembly refuses to die down, another video clip surfaced on the social media showing Swami Prabodhanand Giri, a Hindu rightwing hatemonger, making violent remarks against Muslim community. He is seen reiterating the call for violence against Muslims.

“To save the world, everyone who believes in the Quran needs to be finished,” Prabodhanand, one of the organisers and speakers of the Haridwar event, says in the video that is said to be from January 2 in Ghaziabad.

Prabodhanand is still not named in the FIR filed by the police in Haridwar which has so far named five people but arrested none.

A detailed video story by news website The Quint shows the chief of Hindu Raksha Sena  saying, “Jihadis are those who have understood the Quran… There are a few who read the Quran, the ones who understand it become Jihadi.”

“We will stand up against every jihadi in India and clean the country of their presence. The Prime Minister has said Swachh Bharat, we will make it a clean and holy (pavitra) Bharat,” Prabodhanand can be seen saying in the video.

“If you keep weapons to fight as Ram did in Mahabharata, you will be blessed by Lord Ram and Krishna. Weapons are essential to fight with Jihadis and there is no other way.

He further said, “It is an old tradition to keep weapons that we had forgotten. It is not a crime to keep arms with you for self-protection, as a Hindu never strikes first.”

According to The Quint, the Ghaziabad police denied having any knowledge of the alleged hate speeches made by Giri at the public event.

Prabodhanand also makes reference to the genocidal violence against Rohingya Muslims by Buddhist extremists and Myanmar army appealing the crowd to repeat the same against Muslims in India.

He also speaks about how under the rule of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in uttar Pradesh the Hindu rightwing are feeling emboldened to carry out their activities.

“In 2017 when there was nobody to speak for the Hindus, in the entire country, after Yogi stepped into the government of UP, I made him a promise that the sword of Hindutva that he has prepared, will remain and will be sharpened with his (Prabodhanand’s) guidance, and people will not be able to survive in front of it,” he said.

He vowed not backtrack on his remarks even when the police cases are filed and announced that ‘Dharma Sansad’ would be organised in every state across the country. Such events are going to be held in Aligarh (January 22, 23), Kurukshetra, Haryana (15 and 15 February), and Himachal Pradesh (12 February), Prabodhanand said.
