Migrant workers head home in large numbers

Bengaluru, 27 Apr 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: As the 14-day lockdown announced by the Karnataka government to curb the surging Covid cases in the state will come into effect from 9 pm today, migrant workers from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have once again begun heading to their home  towns as uncertainty looms large.

A large number of people are seen in the KSRTC bus stands  with their luggages all keen to return to their  homes well before the lockdown commences.

It has been learnt that  the number of  buses that operated between Mangaluru and Bengaluru had almost doubled  on Monday night.
