Bengaluru, 26 August 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: The state government has shortlisted 603 government schools for adoption. Along with ministers and MLAs, even the private educational institutions have come forward to join hands with the state government in the school adoption programme.
According to MR Doreswamy, who is the advisor to CM BS Yediyurappa in the educational matters, the CM and MLAs have agreed to adopt 190 schools, while 12 universities have agreed to adopt 120 schools.
"CM BS Yediyurappa has agreed to adopt ten schools and it is the higher number of school adoption by an elected representative," he said.
Meanwhile, DCM CN Ashwath Narayan agreed to adopt eight schools, while two other DCMs Lakshman Savadi and Govind M Karjol agreed to adopt five schools each.
Rest of the schools have bee adopted by companies, donors, film stars, media houses etc.
