Labourer trapped as mud caves in while drilling borewell

Udupi, 16 Feb 2020 [Fik/News Sources]: A labourer  was trapped in a 15 feet deep hole    when mud caved in all of a sudden  while drilling for a borewell at Maravanthe in Byndoor taluk on February 16, Sunday afternoon. Presently rescue efforts are in full swing.

The person trapped  is Rohith Kharvi, a local resident. It is said  mud caved in upto 15 feet  leaving Kharvi trapped beneath.

Police personnel, fire service personnel and local residents are assisting in the rescue operations. A JCB has also been pressed into service.
