Around 7 pm, the speeding car rammed into the electric pole on Kasarughatta Road causing a major short-circuit at Ramakrishna's house, which is 400 metres away from the accident spot. Ramakrishna, who was standing next to the gate of his house, was electrocuted. His wife, who was inside the house, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she is currently being treated.
