Mangaluru, 11 Dec 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Headquarters, Coast Guard District (Karnataka) under the aegis of Ministry of Defence is observing Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the month of December 2018.
Since 1949, 07th December is observed as the Armed Forces Flag Day throughout the country to honour the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought on our borders to safeguard the country’s honour.
“There cannot be a nobler cause than laying down one’s life for the country,” said DIG SS Dasila, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka, “The aim of the campaign is to generate awareness on ‘Armed Forces Flag Day Fund’ and encourage people to contribute generously for the welfare schemes of our heroes who had laid their life and were wounded while performing their duty towards our motherland. By wearing Armed Forces Flag one can showcase his or her admiration for the martyrs who have given their ‘Today for our Tomorrow’.”
