Mulki, 02 May 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: A married man who was all set to tie the nuptial knot for the second time without divorcing his former wife found himself behind the bars after the police arrested him from the marriage hall.
The police, acting on a complaint lodged by the wife laid in wait of the groom, who is a Surathkal resident and surrounded him as soon as he arrived at the marriage venue in Bappanadu, Mulky on Monday. They were also accompanied by few members of Jaya Karnataka, a local organisation.
While all attempts made by the woman to contact the would-be-bride's family failed, she approached the police to stop the impending marriage. As per the woman they had been married for two years, and her husband had lied that he was out of country during their last conversation.
Though huge drama prevailed at the hall initially, his arrest came as a major relief to the bride's family, hailing from Padubidri who were totally unaware of his first marriage.
Meanwhile it is gathered that the family members of the accused has agreed to reimburse the marriage expenses incurred by the bride's family.
