New Delhi, 31 Mar 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Expressing deep concern over communal violence unleashed by Hindutva groups in West Bengal and Bihar, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind(M) Friday demanded stern action against the perpetrators of riots. Jamiat said if the action had taken against the son of Union Minister, riots would not have spread to other places in Bihar.
Maulana Mahmood Madani, Jamiat general secretary demanded the state and central government take every possible steps for restoring peace and amity in disturbed areas.
If action had been taken against Arjit Shaswat– son of Union Minister who is accused of Bhagalpur riots, ensuing communal flare-ups would not have spread in Nalanda, Aurangabad, and Samastipur etc in Bihar, he said.
Accusing the communal forces of engineering the riots, Maulana Madani questioned the Bihar government’s commitment against corruption and communalism.
Only lip service will not serve any purpose until the government-led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar takes practical measures to rein in communal elements. He said.
“ Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has consistently demanding that district administration should be held accountable for outbreak of communal riots and adequate financial compensation should be given to the affected persons. If this is followed then controlling riots will become easy,” he added.
