Bangladesh army enters Rohingya camps sparking fear

ANKARA, 15 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: Bangladesh has sent troops in Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar city as forced repatriation to Myanmar fuels fear among refugees, the Guardian reported Wednesday. The repatriation of more than 2,200 Rohingya refugees to Myanmar will begin on Nov. 15, amid claims by the Bangladesh government that it is voluntary. However, refugees who spoke to the Guardian said many Rohingya families have gone into hiding. Death toll from California wildfire climbs to 83

ANKARA, 22 Nov 2018 [Fik/News Sources]: The death toll from the Camp Fire in the U.S. state of California has climbed to 83, the local sheriff said late Wednesday. The number of the deaths has risen after search teams found two more bodies in the towns of Paradise and Magalia, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea told a press briefing.  According to Honea, the rain and mudflows made the process of searching difficult and 563 people are still missing.  Honea also said that the searchers were “working diligently” to identify those killed in the fire and will not take the day off for Thanksgiving on Thursday.  The deadliest wildfire in recorded state history has also destroyed more than 13,500

Trump ignores Senate deadline on Khashoggi killing

WASHINGTON, 09 Feb 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: U.S. President Donald Trump will not respond to a legally-required Senate request to determine whether sanctions are warranted against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, a senior administration official said Friday. The president has until midnight to formally respond to a letter from former Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker and Ranking Member Bob Menendez which asked Trump to make the determination under the Global Magnitsky Act within 120 days.
