State has enough water, government to set up 24/7 control room

Bengaluru, 02 May 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: Chief Secretary C.S. Vijaybhaskar has said that there will be no dearth for drinking water till June and the government will ensure sufficient supply of water to entire state till the end of summer. After a review meeting with district administration on Tuesday, Mr Vijaybhaskar told reporters that Chief Minister could not participate in the review meetings as election code of conduct was in force and he was holding meetings every fortnight. The government has decided to set up a 24X7 control room for supplying drinking water during summer. The government was ensuring minimum 55-85 litres of water per person per day and water was being supplied to 60,248 villages. Water was being supplied from dams, reservoirs, hand pumps and borewells. IAF technician from Hassan shoots self in Haryana

Bengaluru, 10 June 2019 [Fik/News Sources]:  A newly-wed youth, employed as a technician with the Indian Air Force committed suicide at Sirsa in Haryana on Friday. The deceased, Mohan Kumar, 28 hails from Hassan and had got married two months ago. He was serving in the Air Force for the last eight years. It is gathered that he shot himself by using his revolver within a toilet in the Air Force station. The reason behind the death is not known. Clear encroachments on public spaces, HC to civic bodies

Bengaluru, 22 June 2019 [Fik/News Sources]: The Karnataka High court while hearing a petition challenging the illegal construction of Saibaba temple within the public park near police quarters located on the Magadi Main Road, has directed its Registrar General to initiate a suo motu case relating to religious centres encroaching public places such as roads and parks in the state. The petitioners, S. Ravichandra and others, had alleged that a Saibaba temple was being built in Vitala Nayaka park located in Dr Rajkumar ward (ward number 106).
