Modi cabinet rejig: Four MPs from Karnataka inducted as MoS, Sadananda Gowda resigns

Bengaluru, 08 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: As part of the massive rejig of the Union Council of Ministers, four parliamentarians from Karnataka were inducted as ministers of state on Wednesday. Three-time Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrasekhar, two-time Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha member Shobha Karandlaje, two-time MP from Bidar Bhagwanth Khuba and first-time MP from Chitradurga A Narayanaswamy took oath along with 39 other new Union ministers on Wednesday. SSLC exams begin in Karnataka with safety measures for COVID-19

Bengaluru, 19 July 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or class 10 exams commenced across Karnataka in every district on Monday. The SSLC exams for this year had been modified to only take place on two days due to the pandemic situation. The exams will only be conducted on Monday, July 19 and Thursday, July 22. A total of 8.76 lakh students would attend the exams this year On each of the days, three OMR (Optical Mark recognition or Optical Mark Reading) sheets, would be provided to the students for three respective subjects where students will have to answer multiple choice questions for all the three subjects. Karnataka reports 1,102 new Covid-19 cases, 17 deaths

Bengaluru, 09 Sep 2021 [Fik/News Sources]: Karnataka logged 1,102 new Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths on Wednesday, taking the total number of infections to 29,58,090 and the toll to 37,458. The day also saw 1,458 discharges, taking the total number of recoveries in the state so far to 29,03,547. Out of the total number of cases, 338 were from Bengaluru Urban, as the city saw 277 discharges and five deaths, a health department bulletin said. Active cases in the state stood at 17,058. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 0.64 per cent, the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) was 1.54 per cent. Behind Bengaluru Urban in number of fatalities was Uttara Kannada with four, Dakshina Kannada (3), Mysuru (2), followed by others.
